You will not find a better service department in the state of Indiana, with the passion and expertise this group provides.
Gear Up Cyclery employs two full time personnel to staff the Service Department. Technical Service Manager Jeff Kingdon began his work in service departments in the retail cycling industry in 2000. He is a graduate of Barnett Bicycle Institute and attended their extensive Bicycle Repair and Overhaul course. Also at Barnett’s he completed courses in bicycle fitting, wheel building, suspension service & tuning, service sales, and service department management. He also is a graduate of United Bicycle Institute (UBI) and is a certified professional mechanic, wheel builder and suspension technician. He maintains relationships with both Barnett’s, UBI and Specialized SBCU and periodically continues his education with these. Jeff supervises all of the mechanical and technical aspects of the store. He maintains that, even though he’s been to school and the years of experience continue to grow, his most valuable qualification is that he’s particular!
Daniel Gibbs began his career in cycling retail in 2010 in preparation for the opening of Gear Up Cyclery and helped out greatly with the need to build new bicycles for the store. Later he joined the staff and now is the lead mechanic in the Service Department as well as managing the store operations. Daniel brings a broad mechanical experience to his work as he worked in farming and a farm equipment dealership before coming to Gear Up. He is also a graduate of Barnett Bicycle Institute completing their two week Bicycle Repair and Overhaul course and Specialized SBCU. Your bike is in good hands with Daniel… he is a journeyman mechanic whose interest and knowledge continues to grow. He is also particular!
